Circle, the issuer of USDC stablecoin, has expanded its Web3 Services to the Solana network, recently named the fastest blockchain ahead of rivals. The expansion will provide Solana developers with essential tools for building secure and seamless user experiences.
Phased Rollout of Web3 Services on Solana Ecosystem
Circle’s Programmable Wallets, which launched in August 2023, simplifies the integration of customizable wallets into Decentralized Applications (DApps).
Developers can leverage a range of APIs to tailor wallet features, such as transaction types and security settings, without needing in-depth blockchain knowledge. The platform’s flexibility allows for the creation of in-app wallets specifically designed for Solana use cases, facilitating the growth of innovative applications within the ecosystem.
The focus on payment use cases aligns with Solana’s strengths and Circle’s mission to enhance global economic prosperity through frictionless value exchange.
According to Circle CEO and co-founder, Jeremy Allaire, the new platform aims to “enable developers of consumer and enterprise apps to rapidly and safely integrate high-performance wallets UX.” Allaire believes that more utility will translate to more value for the network and lead to more developers, steamrolling into even more utility.

The expansion of Circle’s Web3 Services on Solana will be in two phases. The initial phase includes Programmable Wallets and Gas Station, supporting fungible token transfers and transaction fee sponsorship. Subsequent phases will introduce support for Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) and smart contract interactions, unlocking a wider range of use cases for Solana developers.
Circle has also announced the upcoming release of more developer tools for Solana, including the Smart Contract Platform, a suite of APIs and audited templates designed to accelerate the development process.
To encourage adoption, Circle is offering developers the opportunity to create their first 100 wallets for free. This initiative, combined with the comprehensive suite of Web3 Services, aims to empower developers and foster innovation within the Solana ecosystem.
Empowering Developers and Streamlining Transactions
With the expansion to Solana, developers can build enterprise-scale apps using flexible REST APIs in any language. The seamless integration of USDC and EURC facilitates payments and financial services, while the Gas Station feature allows developers to sponsor transaction fees on behalf of their users.
Furthermore, developers can combine Programmable Wallets with Circle’s Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP) to design mainstream apps spanning Solana and EVM blockchains.
