Ripple Labs Inc. has launched a new feature within its Ripple Payments API termed “Try it.” Notably, the new addition of the API will enable developers to test XRP transactions live, without the need for actual funds.
The Ripple Labs “Try it Before You Buy It” Feature
As per the announcement shared on X, the “Try it Before You Buy It” feature is a way to boost the development process for potential customers as well as developers on the chain.
“Our new ‘Try It’ feature… Available now as a lightweight testing tool, customers can ‘try it before they buy it,’” the firm said in the update.
The “Try it” feature is available on the reference documentation pages for the Ripple Payments API, Report Service API, and Smart Liquidation Service API.
The real essence of the feature is to enable development teams to assess Ripple’s payment technology. To achieve this developers can send API requests to a simulated server. Based on the structure, developers will receive realistic responses without needing to sign in or having to obtain API credentials.
Previously, developers were required to follow through a contracting operation to obtain API credentials before testing Ripple Payments APIs. Now, this development eliminates such hurdles and grants access to a convenient testing tool.
Developer-Friendly Integration for Ripple Users
Going forward, developers, particularly those new to the integration process can learn more about the API through reference documentation. Additionally, without leaving the documentation page, developers can experiment with how specific endpoints respond.
Ripple is optimistic that the “Try it” feature will reduce integration time significantly and developers will conduct autonomous testing before going live. This knowledge from the mock server responses prepares developers for successful integration with Ripple Payments, Ripple’s proprietary solution leveraging XRP and other crypto assets.
